☆ Accelerating newborn and child survival
Every Newborn Counts
In Mozambique about 28 of every 1,000 babies die in their first month. Most of these deaths can be prevented. Womenice Community connects every mother, every Community Assistant and every health worker so that help arrives in time.

What saves babies
- Before pregnancy: prevent teenage pregnancy — see the My Body space.
- During pregnancy: antenatal visits and knowing the danger signs.
- At birth: give birth in a health facility with a skilled attendant whenever possible.
- First 28 days: breastfeed in the first hour, keep the baby warm (kangaroo care), clean cord care, act fast on danger signs.
- Up to 5 years: vaccines, nutrition, mosquito nets, quick treatment of diarrhoea and pneumonia.
